This is considered by scholars to be of cultural importance. This book contains songs which were collected by the author, Cecil James, who with the help of Rev. A. A. Brockington and Mr. Fleetwood Stileman investigated, and consequently captured the lyrics and notes of used by the sailors of the time, published in 1914.
